What material are the coasters made of?
Studio Vertu’s coasters are made of Italian Botticino Marble, quarried in Verona, Italy.

Do the coasters absorb moisture?
No, the coasters are made from Italian Marble - just like a kitchen counter top. Our experience with the coasters that do absorb is that after so much moisture, the image begins to come off and then the piece starts to mold.

How is the image put on the surface?
The image is hand-printed onto the surface. Because the stone is naturally a little porous, the image is absorbed by the surface of the stone. the image will never peel or flack off.

How do you clean the marble?
The best method for cleaning is with soap and water. Please do not use any abrasive cleaners or pads, this will scratch the image.

How do the coasters come packaged?
The coasters do not have any special packaging, they come bulk shipped. Over the years our experience is that packaging gets in the way. If the coaster set was in a box, as a retailer, you would have to keep opening the box to show all four images. We do offer some simple boxes at an additional charge but for the most part our customers leave the coaster stacked in the complete set.

Can you purchase the tiles without backs?
All of our tiles can be purchased with no backing, just specify this on your PO.

Can the tiles be used for a backsplash?
Our tiles make beautiful backsplashes. Simply order with no backs, mount to the wall with a construction adhesive, grout and seal.

Do most retailers sell the coasters in the set or individually?
For the most part, its a 50/50 split. There are some customer who feel a single coaster at $10 - $12. each is just too small - these are the retailers who sell the coasters in the sets. Winery and Museum customers tend to retail the coaster one at a time. We have found that the customer who sells the coasters individually tend to sell more.

What are your best sellers?
Currently, any of the wine / liquor themed sets are the best selling images. The next best selling category would be floral.

Do you have any (fill-in the blank) images?
Over the past ten years Studio Vertu has gone from 10 to over 450 active sets of coasters. Each set is comprised of four different images - that's over 500 images to choose from. We like to think that we have images that could fit any theme...and if we don't now, we can create them.

Do you offer custom and what are the minimums?
Yes we offer custom printing - its quick and easy. (please see section on Custom) There is a one time set-up fee which covers a hard sample. Once the sample is approved each additional custom set is priced the same as our stock sets. If you are a new customer, your first order is a $250.00 minimum and your reorder is just $100.00. These minimums can be met with all custom or a combination of custom and Studio Vertu stock images - its your choice.

Where do you ship from?
We ship from Cincinnati, OH . Most orders are shipped FedEx Ground unless otherwise requested.

Do we drop ship and if so is there a drop ship fee?
We do drop ship for a minimal fee, contact us for details.
